Moonwalk Do's and Dont's |
This is information was supplied by the foremost resource of inflatable play associations. If you understand what is a good moonwalk rental then you can ask your questions safely when shopping around to rent for your birthday party or corporate function.Inflatable play is normally a very safe and good way for children to exercise whilst having fun. The three elements that make for a safe inflatable play environment are:
- Properly manufactured and maintained equipment.
- Correct operation (pressure, location, anchorage etc.) of the equipment.
- Supervision
Any Jumping J-Jays bounce house and moonwalk equipment is tested to a recognised standard both before first use and annually thereafter. The most recognised standard is the conformity to both the Australian and European Standard developed in the past 3 years. I know we are all American however the world is changing and America’s 50 states can never agree of uniformity so we need to be abreast of world best practices. It only makes it better for you, right?
DO NOT forget your responsibilities as the customer because often the supervision is down to you!
Play Safe - DOs & DON'Ts
ALWAYS
- Have regard to the moonwalks intended use. Users that are outside the intended weight or height range can injure themselves and other users.
- Make sure the Moonwalk has inflated walls on at least 3 sides.
- Make sure the blower is at least 1.2 metres from the inflatable.
- Make sure the moonwalk has a current test certificate.
- Use soft fall mats (on concrete locations). These are provided to negate identified risks
- Make sure that children are supervised at all times by a responsible adult. The vast majority of accidents occur through lack of, or bad supervision.
- Check that the anchors on the moonwalk are attached and don’t let the children play with them. Even in non-windy conditions the inflatable will move and creep.
- Hire your party castle from a reputable operator. Check their websites for accreditation and the type of information they provide you.
- Follow the instructions given to you by the Rental Company - They are there for the safety of your children
- Rent your bounce house or moonwalk on the basis of the safest - Not the cheapest
NEVER
- Allow users to climb on to the walls. Most accidents happen this way.
- Deflate the Bounce House whilst in use. Users can strike the ground heavily if you do.
- Use the Bounce House if you have any doubt as to its safety.
- Throw objects (or other people!) on to the Inflatable.
- Allow users onto the Moonwalk in high winds.
- Allow anyone over 12 years of age onto the Bounce House.
